Map where a request begins, who handles it and what must happen before it can move on. For example, a quotation may need review before it becomes an order. The platform should make that transition explicit.
One platform. Clear rules.
Business software that connects records, permissions and the work moving between teams.
Discuss the workThe controls activate with JavaScript. The illustrative rules, record and scope remain readable below. No information is sent or saved.

Permissions, approvals and record states cannot depend on a hidden button. Validate each change where it is stored, record who made it and distinguish a draft, an approved record and a completed transaction.
The screens and actions people depend on, stated as the task before any design.
Know which record is authoritative.
Decide which system owns customer, product and operational data. Define identifiers, field meanings and update rules at integration boundaries. Keep retries from creating duplicate records, and give people a way to resolve conflicting information.
Build the tools to run it.
Administrative controls, useful logs, backups and recoverable releases belong in the platform. Test failed dependencies and interrupted operations as well as the normal workflow, so an operator can see what happened and what needs attention.
Choose the first working workflow.
Identify one process with a clear owner and a visible outcome. Deliver it end to end, including permissions and real data handling, before expanding into adjacent departments or adding another layer of automation.
